I would suggest an "About" page which can contain an explanation of the site and specifically community guidelines. This could be either a footnote or a link in the upper right, and would be as simple as plain text located at '/about'.

Is this possible?

first we really need category.
then it'll be great if we can sorted rss feed into different categories.example:
rss from cnn > news category
espn > sport
businessweek > err... businessetc...

I wouldn't even put this as a high priority myself, but it would allow for some interesting possibilties.
For example, I was having a conversation with some people at my employer about the possibility of using slinkset as a way to set up a voting/nomination process for an awards program my company puts on. I realized the only way I could truly make it work would be if i could eliminate the age of post as a factor in the sort algorithm, and also control pagination (so i could get all of the nominees on the same screen).
Anyhow, just an idea which may be of use some day.

So that users can log in from their facebook account, so that items get posted in their facebook news feed, and even perhaps integration of the new facebook Connect commenting system.

Let's say I create a specialized slinkset to track the blogs of all the YC founders, can I upload an OPML that has the links to all the blogs, and that gets pulled into lets say ycomibnator.slinkset.com.
Is this possible? Thanks

I have a slinkset set up for job listings in a particular field. It pulls in feeds from about 5 different sites. It would be cool if slinkset could had an option to purge items older than a certain age automatically (2 weeks in my case) as the job listings are no longer open but they fill up the search results. It would save me doing it manually :)
What's the chances of something like that getting implemented?
Are there any other slinksetters that would think it would be useful?

If the user clicks on a link, they will go to a new page with comments and a link to the site. This will be huge for SEO!

It might be interesting to have an 'evergreen tab' in addition to the popular & recent tabs.
'Recent' uses a date heavy ranking algorithm (I assume), 'evergreen' uses a vote heavy algorithm & 'popular' ranks using both. I can see several uses for such a feature or variations of it. In combination with other requested features (eg tags/categories) it can be even more useful.
For example, in a heavily tagged/categorised slinkset, it could be used as a resource centre. For a low traffic slinkset, this might make a better 'homepage.'
Maybe it would be useful to just let admins set the weighting of time/votes to create a custom tab. I assume that a different criteria for ranking is appropriate for different sites. Quick news sites (like digg/reditt) are very time sensitive, but slinksets might have other uses that do not require a large number of daily submissions to 'work'.
Maybe you already take care of this in the background with a dynamic system comes up with a ranking criteria for a site individually, taking into account how busy the site is. I dunno, I'm a new user.

Any time I make a post or comment on something, it should add to a list that I can check up on (which goes across all slinksets) so that I don't have to do so manually. Sort of like clicking "Threads" on HN.

It would make sorting (similar to tags) useful for readers. So each member could have their own personal tab with favourites/voted on/comments eyc. and as site admin I could have tabs for specific categories i.e) video links/photo's/local/national etc.. Then advertising becomes possible per tab based on sorted/tagged news.

I've always hated the Reddit-style list view (that Slinkset uses). I much prefer the digg-style list view. Can you create two or three options for us to choose from? Easy stuff. Let people decide what they like best.

Not an urgent feature, but I'd love to see how others are using the site, and it's be good for everyone's SEO.

Do not import old entries. Only add entries which have a larger timestamp than the feed added date. This could be a feed-level option (i.e. appear under the "more options" sections).

I would love to see image oriented slinkset. So that user can submit images

Can you please make an api for developers like myself to create new features in our slinsket site and other things as well?

I'd like to see email notifications as an option for users, so when a user has posted a link or commented on a posting, they will receive an email to let them know when someone else has commented. Similar to facebook email notifications when someone has commented on a thread, or google alerts. This can help make sites sticky.
