It would be very useful if page links could be added to the nav bar. One example would be a members link which would take each member to a page listing their items. Also a link to a homepage would be great.

Forcing users to create accounts is a hindrance to adoption. I'm aware that it is possible to have anonymous participation, but that feels like it can be abused.
OAuth is a good way to solve this problem, and it seems that posterous already uses it. It would allow users with Twitter, Google, Yahoo, etc to participate, without having to create yet another account at the website.

I would like the links submited to my site to be dofollow if possible.

I would like to see a customizable front page added, like an ordinary webpage, so site owners can give their Slinkset site the look they want.
A customizable profile page for members would also be very useful, especially if it contained the bookmarks members added so they could keep track of them.

Allow the administrator to paste a list of urls into a text field and parse them as individual items in order to be able to pre-populate a set more quickly (than having to input a large set of items individually) [see http://linkli.st/ for an example of batch input functionality]

One of the nice things about Chrome is that I've been able to use it without a bookmarks toolbar for just about everything I need... except posting to Slinkset. Any chance y'all might develop a Chrome extension?

I would like my users to be able to easily reset their password.

To ease the burden on an Admin to monitor for bad quality (obscene, hateful etc.) posts, it would be very useful for users to have a "Report this post" that will alert Admin of a post that needs to be reviewed.
Any chance of this feature? Anyone else have any thoughts on this?

Do not import old entries. Only add entries which have a larger timestamp than the feed added date. This could be a feed-level option (i.e. appear under the "more options" sections).

I also wonder can you work on developing a widget that could be embedded in blog posts so that people could share that blog post to any slinkset site. Like Digg button with votes count on it. It would be even more nice if the button is customizable.

Is it possible to have an option to enable the front links popular, recent etc to the discussion page instead of taking the users to original news site and on discussion page the link directs to news site page. i hope it would generate more comments on a news stories. It should be optional in the admin area.

I have a slinkset set up for job listings in a particular field. It pulls in feeds from about 5 different sites. It would be cool if slinkset could had an option to purge items older than a certain age automatically (2 weeks in my case) as the job listings are no longer open but they fill up the search results. It would save me doing it manually :)
What's the chances of something like that getting implemented?
Are there any other slinksetters that would think it would be useful?

Hey guys! I've thought about this for a while now, and finally realized that it would be much much more convenient for us to copy and paste a code on our webpage or blog and enable people to sign up, submit comments/post threads, and log in to our forums without even leaving the webpage or blog that we're on.
I've discussed this with several people now, and they've said that it would also be much more convenient.Love you guys John and Brett!

I want to embed my slinkset page as a feed for my blog so that users can see the latest additions to a website. Can't slinkset be embedded?

Currently, incoming RSS Feeds are posted automatically (which is great), but items are not assigned to any particular category.
I would like to connect one incoming RSS Feed to one Category, and another RSS Feed to another Category.
Can you please add this feature?
thanks,

17.Event class w/ date(s) (rustopolis.slinkset.com)
It would be great to have an "event" class for submissions, which would allow the user to assign an event a date or date range.
Furthermore, if the admin could choose to include all events, only upcoming events, or only past events in each category, that would be awesome.
I'm creating a "local upcoming.org that doesn't suck" and these features would free me up from a lot of manual daily editing.
Congrats on the Posterous hook-up, btw!

I like the Categories feature.
Presently, these are shown on the right at the top of the sidebar.
It would be great if you could have an option to have the Categories displayed in a Bar across the top of the main page, just above the Popular/Recent/Submit.
This is how Digg.com handles Categories. ... I am not asking you to replicate Digg, ... but displaying the Categories on top in their own Bar makes them "first class citizens", rather than being seen as secondary and off to the right.

Your current "incoming" Feed feature auto-posts articles from another Feed.
It would be cool if you could add an "outgoing" Feed feature, so members could subscribe to an RSS/Atom Feed from the slinkset site.
I know you have a "widget" with recent/popular stories, so I am hoping an outgoing feed would not be a ton of work.

Getting greedy again....What also would be fabulous is if we could configure the front page in columns with certain categories of the admins choosing. Maybe showing 4-6 categories in two columns with headlines and snippets.
So it looks just like a hi end news page.
Your menu bar would look like this:[ Front Page] [Popular] [Recent] [Submit]
Regardless of what you do I'm very happy with this format.

I don't want to sound greedy because I love the way this is set up better than any other blog program I've had so this suggestion simply has to do with saving a few seconds per post.
When I see a story I want to grab I highlight a couple of paragraphs and then click "post to radar news" in my bookmarks tool bar. At this point you have to copy the snippet then paste it into the description. I know it sounds greedy but it would be great if all you had to do was highlight your snippet then click post to....Then what you highlighted would be waiting in the description box as apposed to pasting it.

Firstly - tags - I'd be really keen on being able to tag my posts. It would significantly increase the usefulness of the site for me.
Secondly - auto-tagging of feed posts by keyword. It would be amazing if I could have feed posts given tags automatically if they had certain keywords that I determine. It would basically require incorporating the functions of an rss filter into slinkset.
At the moment the feed functionality allows us to aggregate lots of information from all over the internet. This feature would allow us to organise that information in a much more sophisticated way than the categories tool. -

Seems a growing problem is having members of our slinkset submitting 4, 5, or 6 submissions within minutes of each other. Is there a way to set some kind of threshold where they can only submit 1 submission every XX amount of minutes? Would be killer cool. Thanks.

I would suggest an "About" page which can contain an explanation of the site and specifically community guidelines. This could be either a footnote or a link in the upper right, and would be as simple as plain text located at '/about'.
